Trell Rohovit, Chief Executive Officer

Trell Rohovit has over 20 years of experience in driving technology and risk management related businesses. A significant focus of Trell’s career has been on creating innovative security technologies to solve emerging market problems and address the challenges of deploying secure business applications, processes and infrastructure.

Trell recently served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Venafi Inc., the leader in enterprise key and certificate management. He was a subject matter expert with KPMG’s Information Risk Management consulting practice where he was responsible for selling, managing and delivering information security consulting services for large/multi-national organizations. Trell served as the President and Chief Executive Officer of NSD Security (TriCipher), a company focused on securing identity management systems and protecting data privacy. Previously, he was the Head of Business Development and Solutions – the Americas, for PricewaterhouseCoopers’ e-security business “Betrusted.” Trell also served as a Senior Vice President of Product Management and a Board Director for the Digital Signature Trust Co.

Mark Nelson, Chief Technology Officer

Mr. Nelson has over 25 years of experience in the design and architecture of enterprise applications. The majority of those efforts have been in the implementation highly scalable information security systems – including public key infrastructure, electronic and digital signatures, and advanced authentication technologies. Prior to joining HydrantID, Mr. Nelson worked with various Fortune 100 companies and government entities as a subject matter expert in the design, development and implementation of PKI-enabled solutions that have performed millions transactions and document signings. Prior to that, Mark was an Enterprise Architect at Quintiles, developing large content management solutions for the clinical research industry. Before joining Quintiles, Mark held similar positions at SAIC, D.O. Tech, Unisys and General Dynamics.

Scott Kern, VP Customer and Technical Solutions

Scott Kern is the Vice President for Customer and Technical Solutions and has over 15 years experience working closely with Fortune 100 companies and industry partners to implement PKI-enabled solutions that provide identity and authentication capabilities to meet a wide variety of compliance-driven initiatives. Prior to HydrantID, Scott was Lead Architect for Identity at Verizon Enterprise Solutions where he led the design and development of the Electronic Prescribing of Controlled Substances (EPCS) Gateway cloud service allowing pharmacies to meet guidelines for validating EPCS transactions. Used by CVS, Express Scripts and other major pharmacies, this platform signs and validates over a million PKI-based transactions daily. Before joining Verizon, Scott held similar positions at SAIC, Arcot Systems, BeTrusted and Digital Signature Trust (purchased by IdenTrust in 2002).

J. James Palmer Jr., Director of Authentication and Risk

James Palmer has over 25 years experience in the financial industry, specializing in Identity and Access Management. Prior to HydrantID, he was Director at Edgile, a Bay Area security consultancy where he was responsible for Product Management and Partner Relations. James was a Senior Product Manager for Burton Group, where he helped launch their Identity, Security and Risk Management Services. James led the Solutions Architecture Team at DST/IdenTrust, one of the first Certificate Authorities. He managed smart card projects and led smart card personalization efforts at American Express.

At the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco, James was responsible for national information security policies, deployment of an early PKI on a national scale, and client/server network consulting. James is also a community leader, having twice been elected to public office as a city council member.

Rocky Taylor, Chief Financial Officer

Mr. Taylor has over 20 years of experience building, running and selling a variety of businesses. Prior to joining HydrantID, Rocky was the founder and President of Stone Retail Inc. which was the exclusive licensee for Volcom Retail Outlets in the United States. He has extensive managerial experience including managing over 400 employees while operating 30+ locations for Volcom. Prior to founding Stone Retail, Rocky owned and operated DC Shoes Factory Stores, Quiksilver Factory Stores, Draper, Smart and Associates CPA and Fields Software Group. Rocky received his BS in Marketing and MBA from the University of Utah.
